State Bedroom in the Electress's Apartment

 

As in the elector's bedroom, the room is divided by a bed balustrade into an anteroom and an alcove containing the bed. The state bed of the electress has not been preserved as completely as that of the elector. Only the canopy, the side bed curtains that have now been relocated to the back of the bed and the taffeta curtains are original. The bed decoration with its silver embroidery was renewed in 1978 and the wall hangings in yellow damask were replaced in 1976. The ceiling fresco by Jacopo Amigoni in the anteroom of the bedroom shows Ceres as an allegory of summer.
