Important works of art from Spain document the various developments of the "Golden Age". The oldest painting is "St Veronica with the Holy Shroud" by El Greco, whose work was strongly influenced by Byzantine and Venetian art.
Further outstanding works are a painting by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo of a pedlar woman, an "Immaculate Conception" in the late baroque style of the Madrid School by Claudio José Antolinez and an equestrian portrait by the Velázquez pupil Juan Battista del Mazo.
